LeithLate is an annual multi-arts event that takes place over multiple venues in the space of one evening, immediately followed by an afterparty with live music showcase. LeithLate is essentially one huge art opening and in previous years, has presented work by the likes of Kevin Harman, Katie Orton, Alex Gibbs and Ross Fraser McLean, as well as showcasing bands such as John Knox Sex Club, PET and Remember Remember. Now in its third year, and after winning the Creative Edinburgh award for Outstanding Creative Contribution by a Creative Organisation, LeithLate continues to go from strength to strength, and has firmly established itself as a hotly-anticipated event on the Leith calendar.
LeithLate also runs other events and initiatives throughout the year in addition to its annual multi-arts event. This includes The Shutter Project, where contemporary artists create bespoke artworks on the shutters of local Leith businesses, and coming soon, The Mural Project, which involves the creation of a new contemporary mural for Leith by a collective of fine art and street artists. LeithLate returns on Thursday 13th June between 6-9pm, with the LeithLate13 afterparty running from 9pm-midnight.
